SecureContact is a drop in form for users to contact you. It can be implemented on a page or a post. It offers enhaced security by using captcha images. It currently works with WordPress 2.0+. It’s based on the WP Contact Form plugin by Ryan Duff.
You can see the plug-in at work in my Contact page.
You can download the plug-in here or from the SVN repository at http://dev.wp-plugins.org/browser/secure-contact-form/.

This plug-in allows you to put your link collection in any page or post. It’s very simple to use, all you have to do is insert <!−−slinks−−> in your page or post. The new version is compatible with WordPress 2.1/2.2. I also changed the homepage for the plug-in.
You can see the plug-in at work in my Links page.
You can download the plug-in here or from the SVN repository at http://dev.wp-plugins.org/browser/wp-strainu-links/.

Widget for the Connections Theme

Yesterday, WordPress announced the new widget plugin. You can find all you need to now about widgets here, so I’ll spare you the technical details.

Of course, the moment was too good to miss, so I decided to modify my favourite theme, Connections, in order to make it compatible with the new technology. You can download the new theme here.

Other modifications to the theme include a new backgroud. You cand revert to the old picture by following those steps:

  1. Go to the WordPress admin panel and login
  2. Select the Presentation tab, then the Theme Editor
  3. Select the Connections theme. The file that should be opened is site.css
  4. Search for a line that looks like this:
    background:#fff url(img/my_top.jpg) no-repeat bottom;

    and replace it with the following line:

    background:#fff url(img/top.jpg) no-repeat bottom;
  5. You’re done! 🙂

    Wow! This whole WordPress thing is a really big business. I’ve barely made my first plugin, at it was already all over the Web…literally.
    On the other hand, I seemed to have a not so great idea by starting my blog last year, beacuse WordPress 2.0 just appeared. Maybe I should have waited for it? We’ll see…
